Hi, I'm Erica, and welcome to my page! I've been teaching art for the past three years and I've been an artist for as long as I can remember. My parents owned a ceramics business and my mother taught me everything I know. I took my first art class at my local art museum and have been making art and photography since I could hold a crayon.
I absolutely LOVE teaching, but it isn't where I started out. In my former life I was a Graphic Designer but never gave up on my dream of becoming an artist. For about 10 years I owned and operated my own Design firm before friends and family finally encouraged me to go into teaching.
Feeling there was something missing in my life and wanting to share my passion for art with others, I pursued a Certification in Art Education. Now I am a public art teacher spending my weekends as a Children's Art Instructor at the local museum. For the past six years I've taught children in at-risk schools, worked with autistic children, taught after school art programs, been a summer camp art instructor and have curated several local student and public exhibits.
In my spare time (haha!) I enjoy traveling, sports (I'm a Die hard Detroit fan!), photography - I own my own photography business - and am the proud mama of two fur babies Vegas and Phoebe.
